Join us for a day at Marist! Students enrolled in this camp will attend both Kiddie Volleyball and Kiddie Basketball Camps with a snack in between. Following the basketball camp we will serve lunch and in the afternoon students will attend an activities camp. Activities will include games, competitions, art and science/ technology.

This camp will help students improve their catching and pitching skills.  Catchers will learn about blocking, throwing, fielding and receiving pitches.  Pitchers will work on mechanics, fielding plays and pickoff plays.

Campers will have to choose if they want to do the catching camp or pitching camp.  This information can be given to the coaches on day 1 of the camp.

Camp  will be led by current Marist head coach and former major leaguer Kevin Sefcik and his staff along with current Marist players.

Please bring your own glove, catchers gear (if you are doing the catching camp) and shorts are ok to wear.

Learn to play the most important position in team sports from former NCAA quarterback and current head coach Ron Dawczak and offensive coordinator Matt Shalvis.

Officially an IHSA sport in 2018, lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the Midwest.  Athletes of all sorts including football, basketball, soccer, and hockey players make the transition to lacrosse in the spring throughout the area.  Marist High School head coach and former collegiate standout, Chaas Collins and members of the his staff, will work alongside players to improve fundamental techniques and develop advanced lacrosse skill sets.  Players looking to excel at the next level will work on individual skills in small competitive groups, and large group game situations.  All phases of the game will be addressed during the camp, and players will feel more confident in their improved knowledge of the game and individual skills.

Camp is open to all skill level and positions.  Campers should bring their own sticks, helmets, gloves, shoulder and arm pads, and mouth guards.

Goalies are encouraged to attend.

The Marist Lacrosse coaching staff is dedicated to providing each camper and educational experience in a focused environment.

Marist's Running Camp offers young runners (6th through 9th grade) an introduction to the sport of distance running. Coach Pat Quinn, Marist's Girls' Cross Country Head Coach and ESCC Hall of Famer, Coach Rich Karnia, Assistant Cross Country and Head Girls' Track Coach will help young runners to build a base by focusing on nutrition, stretching, and conditioning. The girls' programs have garnered numerous titles over the years in track and cross country sending numerous teams and individuals downstate. The girls' camps will be held separately. Following the camps, weekly running is offered for interested students to help maintain conditioning. Bring a water bottle and good running shoes. Running Camp is highly encouraged and especially helpful for incoming freshmen wanting to run cross country in the Fall.

The Marist RedHawk Defense Camp will consist of position specific instruction from Coach Colleen Phelan, Coach Ashley Barry, current Varsity softball players, and alumni playing at the college level. Campers participating in the camp will be divided by position and age into smaller groups that will cover defensive instruction in the areas of infield, outfield, pitching, and catching. In addition to defensive drills, players will compete in softball competitions and games. Please bring a glove, spikes, gym shoes, and water. All campers will receive a RedHawk Softball t-shirt.

 The Marist Tennis Camp will focus on tennis fundamentals and techniques to improve overall tennis skills. Coach Nicole Selvaggio is a PTR Certified tennis professional, former collegiate tennis coach, and 5-time tennis Coach of the Year. She has a strong background in competitive player development, and has successfully coached the Marist Girls Tennis Program to multiple team accolades, individual IHSA State Tournament Competitors, and took the program to unprecedented history-making heights. Bring your tennis racquets and plenty of water to the camp.

At our camp, we will be learning new music and will perform a concert at the end of the camp for family and friends.  This is a wonderful opportunity to play with students from different schools and make new friends while creating music together! This camp is open to ALL students who are currently enrolled in a grammar school band program.  All students will need to bring their own instrument.  If you are a percussionist or tuba player, we will provide instruments for you.

Kids will learn the basics of filming, lighting, and audio. They will practice anchoring at the news desk, reporting sports and weather in front of the green screen, and working behind the scenes to produce a newscast at the end of the week to show their family.

FENCING STAFF

The camp will focus on the basics of pole vault. The athletes will be introduced to the basic skills of the pole vault: how to hold the pole, run with the pole, planting the pole, and jumping in the pit. All athletes will begin by learning the basics and will progress to jumping in the sand and ultimately the pit. The goal is to teach everyone how to “Jump High.” This will allow athletes of all levels to have a basic understanding of the sport and be ready to jump when entering high school as freshmen. All athletes will be coached by Certified Pole Vaulting Coach, Rich Karnia, who has coached state qualifiers in 2008, 2010-14.  Former athletes have jumped 11'6 (girls) and 13'0 (boys).

Marist’s Track & Field Camp offers young runners an introduction to the sports many events including: sprints, hurdles, jumping events and middle distance. The boys’ and girls’ programs have a long history of success in the ESCC Conference and in the state’s most competitive meets. Coach Rich Karnia and coaching staff will share their expertise by teaching drills, proper form and technique in the various events. The week will conclude with a heptathlon to test learned skills. Wear good running shoes and bring a water bottle.
