  • SESSION 05 - CO-ED KIDDIE SOCCER CAMP

    Kids who already love or are interested in learning about the world’s most popular sport can attend this camp to learn about the five basic skills of soccer and enjoy a variety of games with varied instruction from Marist soccer coaching staff as well as varsity players.

    We will not do any headers for the any children under the age of 12.

  • SESSION 06 - KIDDIE SOFTBALL CAMP

    The Marist RedHawk Kiddie camp will cover the basic fundamentals of throwing, fielding, hitting, pitching, catching, and base running. The campers will have small group instruction lead by the Varsity coaching staff and players. Campers will participate in various sport-related games and competitions and will have a good time learning more about the game of softball. Please bring a glove, spikes, bat, and water. All campers will receive a RedHawk Softball t-shirt.

    Over the last eighteen seasons, Marist basketball has over 320 victories, including an average of over 20 wins per season for the last fifteen years.  During this time, the RedHawks have won five regional championships, 23 tournament championships, and an ESCC title in 2017.  In the last fifteen years, nine players have gone on to play at the Division I level, including Jimmy Griffin '05 (Samford), Mitchell Bouie '06 (Central Connecticut State), Jeremy Nash '06 (Northwestern), Nick Valla '10 (Missouri State),  LJ McIntosh '13 (Texas Pan-American), Lexus Williams '13 (Valparaiso), Nic Weishar '14 (University of Notre Dame-football), Jeremiah Ferguson '15 (Youngstown State) and Justin Brown '17 (Tennessee-Chattanooga).  Coach Gene Nolan '92 and his staff (including current players and alumni of the program) will work with the campers to help improve each players' overall basketball skills in a fun, engaging, and exciting environment.  Shorts, shirt, socks, and good gym shoes are needed.  A camp shirt is included.

    Coach Sefcik is in his fourth year as head coach of the Marist RedHawks varisty baseball team.  Marist baseball has had a great tradition including 1 State Championship, 14 ESCC Conference Championships, 16 Regional titles, and 7 Sectional titles.  Our current coaching staff has 7 coaches from the freshman level thru the varsity level.  All 7 coaches have played college baseball.  The Marist staff will work on all areas of play during this one week camp.   Please bring your bat, glove, helmet and catching gear if you catch.  Also, please bring water bottles.  Players can wear shorts if they wish.  If we get rained out one day we will try to make up that day on Friday, June 29, 2018.  These camps are a great way to meet the Marist staff and use our beautiful field.  Any questions, please email Coach Sefcik at sefcik.kevin@marist.net.  Please also follow us on twitter @maristbaseball for weather updates during the camp week.

  • SESSION 19 - BOYS LACROSSE CAMP - 5TH-8TH

    Officially an IHSA sport in 2018, lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the Midwest.  Athletes of all sorts including football, basketball, soccer, and hockey players make the transition to lacrosse in the spring throughout the area.  Marist High School head coach and former collegiate standout, Chaas Collins and members of the his staff, will work alongside players to improve fundamental techniques and develop advanced lacrosse skill sets.  Players looking to excel at the next level will work on individual skills in small competitive groups, and large group game situations.  All phases of the game will be addressed during the camp, and players will feel more confident in their improved knowledge of the game and individual skills.

    Camp is open to all skill level and positions.  Campers should bring their own sticks, helmets, gloves, shoulder and arm pads, and mouth guards.

    Goalies are encouraged to attend.

    Marist's Running Camp offers young runners (6th through 12th grade) an introduction to the sport of distance running. Coach Jon Gordon, Boys' Cross Country and Track Head Coach, will help young runners to build a base by focusing on nutrition, stretching, and conditioning. The boys' program has garnered numerous titles over the years in track and cross country sending numerous teams and individuals downstate. Following the camps, weekly running is offered for interested students to help maintain conditioning. Bring a water bottle and good running shoes. Running Camp is highly encouraged and especially helpful for incoming freshmen wanting to run cross country in the Fall.

    Marist's Running Camp offers young runners (6th through 9th grade) an introduction to the sport of distance running. Coach Pat Quinn, Marist's Girls' Cross Country Head Coach and ESCC Hall of Famer, Coach Rich Karnia, Assistant Cross Country and Head Girls' Track Coach will help young runners to build a base by focusing on nutrition, stretching, and conditioning. The girls' programs have garnered numerous titles over the years in track and cross country sending numerous teams and individuals downstate. The girls' camps will be held separately. Following the camps, weekly running is offered for interested students to help maintain conditioning. Bring a water bottle and good running shoes.   • SESSION 60 - CO-ED POLE VAULT CAMP - 6TH - 12TH GRADE

    The camp will focus on the basics of pole vault. The athletes will be introduced to the basic skills of the pole vault: how to hold the pole, run with the pole, planting the pole, and jumping in the pit. All athletes will begin by learning the basics and will progress to jumping in the sand and ultimately the pit. The goal is to teach everyone how to “Jump High.” This will allow athletes of all levels to have a basic understanding of the sport and be ready to jump when entering high school as freshmen. All athletes will be coached by Certified Pole Vaulting Coach, Rich Karnia, who has coached state qualifiers in 2008, 2010, and 2011-14.  Current athletes have jumped 11'6 (girls) and 13'0 (boys).

    Marist’s Track & Field Camp offers young runners an introduction to the sports many events including: sprints, hurdles, jumping events and middle distance. The boys’ and girls’ programs have a long history of success in the ESCC Conference and in the state’s most competitive meets. Coach Rich Karni will share their expertise by teching drills, proper form and technique in the various events. The week will conclude with a heptathlon to test learned skills.
